mSPEC Company History

mSPEC Inc. was founded in 1996 to offer economical yet responsive options to the OEM for repair services to Sciex™ product operators. By 1998 mSPEC was servicing the majority of TAGA and API 3 products in Canada.

In 1998 mSPEC USA was formed to provide the same quality of services to American users of Applied Biosystems / MDS Sciex™ products. Also, in 1998 mSPEC expanded its service products to include services for Turbomolecular pumped products such as the API 365, 2000, 3000, 4000, manufactured by Applied Biosystems / MDS Sciex™.

In 2002 mSPEC Inc. purchased Apptal Inc., a mass spectrometer refurbishment business previously supplying MDS Sciex™ with circuit-board and sub-assembly repair services.

In 2005 mSPEC EU Limited was founded to provide a platform for launching mSPEC’s quality services to European users of Applied Biosystems / MDS Sciex™ products.

In 2008 mSPEC was selected by Syft Technologies Ltd. of New Zealand to provide service and support for their new VOICE200® SIFT-MS Instruments in North America. mSPEC brings their 12 years of industry experience to the table to support installation and after sales warranty and service for this excellent new platform of VOC analysis instruments.
