*Product Specialist

Product Specialists - We currently have openings for Product Specialists (Service Engineers) in the St. Louis and Connecticut areas to provide service support to mSPEC customers in the maintenance, repair and calibration of single and triple quad mass spectrometer as well as related systems. The position requires troubleshooting electromechanical systems, testing, adjusting and replacing defective or improperly functioning circuitry as well as electronic and mechanical components, using hand tools, running and analyzing test samples, reviewing instrument performance and adjusting system parameters to meet or exceed the original operating specifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AS/AA Electronics Engineering Technology, Chemistry or related field or equivalent experience
  • 1-5 years technical knowledge in repair and maintenance of LCMS instrumentation
  • 1-5 years customer service experience
  • Applied Biosystems / MDS Sciex™ related experience desirable
  • ability to lift 40lbs unassisted
  • Good organizational and troubleshooting skills
  • Good verbal & written communication skills
  • Ability to build interpersonal relationships

HPLC Technician Position

Responsibilities of the Service Engineer include on-site service, maintenance and installation at the Pfizer Groton site of HPLC systems, usually associated with LC-MS systems. Autosamplers are primarily Leap and the HPLC pumps are typically Shimadzu or Agilent.

A qualified candidate must have experience troubleshooting and repairing HPLC's, and other common laboratory equipment related to LC/MS systems, reading/writing technical training manuals, writing procedures and maintaining appropriate service records.

A background in electronics and/or chemistry is important; prior laboratory or service experience is desired especially with LC/MS instrumentation.
